LARKANA – Larkana Division Commissioner Ghanwar Ali Laghari on Monday visited the Orthopedic Surgery Unit II of the Civil Hospital Block of Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and inspected the various male and female wards, the library, the seminar room, the store, the operating room and other departments. On this occasion, the Medical Superintendent of CMCH, Dr. Gulzar Tunio, briefed the Commissioner on the administrative matters of the hospital, the measures taken for the treatment of patients in the departments, medicines, cleanliness and other matters. . The commissioner visited the orthopedic surgery unit-II and reviewed the ongoing treatment of children with congenital clubfoot. The head of the department, Professor Dr. Zamir Soomro, told the commissioner that operations are performed on children with congenital bent legs in the department’s orthopedic clinic. This institution was created in 2015, he said. He further informed him that from 2015 to 2022, no less than 1,856 children with bent legs were successfully operated on here in the ward. Among them, 849 children with flexed legs were operated on, while 509 children had right foot and 498 children had flexed left foot, Dr. Soomro added. Only 141 operations have been performed this year, Dr Soomro said. The superintendent appreciated the performance of the CMCH doctors present in the department. On this occasion, he also asked the parents of the children admitted about the facilities made available to them by the CMCH authorities and about the treatment. Leghari asked the CMCH management to provide free and comprehensive medical treatment facilities to patients in the hospital. He said cleanliness should be ensured in the hospital and doctors, paramedics and other staff should perform their duties regularly and honestly.
